The Process of Schengen Visit Visa

Below is a clear, standard checklist for a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visit visa — usually for tourism, family/friends, or business, for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Basic Requirements

  1. Visa application form (We will prepare for you)

    • Completed and signed

  2. Passport

    • Valid at least 3 months after your planned return

    • Issued within the last 10 years

    • At least 2 blank pages

  3. Passport-size photos

    • Usually 2 recent photos

    • Schengen photo format (white background, specific size)

  4. Cover letter (We can arrange for you)

    • Explains:

      • Purpose of travel

      • Travel dates

      • Countries you’ll visit

      • Who will pay for the trip

  5. Travel itinerary (We can arrange for you)

    • Flight reservation (not necessarily a paid ticket)

    • Planned entry/exit dates

  6. Accommodation proof (We can arrange for you)

    • Hotel booking or

    • Invitation letter if staying with family/friends

  7. Travel medical insurance (We can arrange for you)

    • Minimum coverage: €30,000

    • Valid for all Schengen countries

    • Covers medical emergencies & repatriation

  8. Proof of financial means

    • Recent bank statements (usually last 3–6 months)

    • Salary slips / proof of income

    • Sponsorship letter (if someone else is paying)

  9. Proof of ties to your home country

    • Employment letter / leave approval

    • Business registration (if self-employed)

    • Student letter (if studying)

    • Property ownership, family ties, etc.

  10. Visa fee

  • Adults: €80

  • Children 6–12: €40

  • Under 6: usually free
    (may vary slightly depending on nationality)
